This article describes the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system in San Francisco, USA. The significance of BART in San Francisco is expounding. The general situation covering the existing line and the proposed route planning is elaborated. Information about vehicle performance and train signal-controlling system is provided. The advantages of BART’s ticketing, transfer, environmental protection and safety are also analyzed in the end.
